Am I crazy but I got the same feeling I had about Berto as I had about Lacey when they were being over hyped. Think about it, when Jeff lacey was at his best, he would just slug with everybody. Lacey main factor that made him win was that he could take more punishment then his oppenent. Lacey or Berto have no jab with makes it hard to hold of aggressive fighters from scambling their eggs! Berto is a fast slugger, he kind of has some Shane Mosley in him, what I mean is that he carries him like a boxer but he lacks a jab. I predict from here, Berto will take many savage beatings like Jeff Lacey did after he took that slavery beating from Joe Calzaghe. After two or three more ass whoppins from contenders, Berto will become a journey man fighting on Friday Nights Fights on ESPN trying to jump start his career again.

Berto has more natural skills and speed than Lacy ever had. Berto just under performed against Ortiz...

Lacy, he needed more to rely on his power to win, he couldn't just rely on his skills like Berto.

Skills are not speed. Berto has no jab that is why he could stop Ortiz from just throwing crazy punches at him. If Berto had real skills he could of held Ortiz off. The jab is the first punch in boxing you learn!!!!

1- Berto has more natural skills than Lacy had...jab or not.

2- Berto has more natural hand speed than Lacy had.

3- Ortiz isn't a useless journeyman, he has some very decent natural skills also.

4- Berto not performing to the standards he should, doesn't take away the fact that Lacy wasn't as talented as Berto.

    End of story...

the gameplan to beat Berto is out, he cant box like I said. Who has he beat? A whole bunch of journeymen. And it looks like he lost the last fight against his last oppenent before orteiz. I cant remember his name. He is fast but he cant box, he is a slugger, just like Mosley. Mosley aint never had a jab, he stick it out there but was never able to control a fight with the jab. If you remember when lacey was unbeaten, he look fast, he hit hard and he took a lot of punishmen.

Berto isn't a bum. He just isn't as good as people thought.
