A war of words has broken out between WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto and former three division champ "Sugar" Shane Mosley. Berto attacked Mosley on Twitter, demanding the veteran boxer step aside from a possible fight with Manny Pacquiao on May 7 in Las Vegas.

Berto and Mosley are both under consideration to face Pacquiao in May. Juan Manuel Marquez is also being considered. Based on everything that's been said by Pacquiao's adviser Michael Koncz, and Top Rank CEO Bob Arum, Mosley is the frontrunner to get the fight, but a deal has yet to be finalized. Those details have not stopped Berto from stating his case on why he's more deserving of the Pacquiao oppotunity.

"You need to go ahead and step aside," Berto told Mosley. "Go sit in your lil old man rocking chair and stir some coffee real slow. I got this. Do you really want to see Pac fight Mosley's old ass? Boxing is looking for that new young fresh face, not grandpas."

I actually think Mosley has the wisdom to last a few more rounds than Berto. but the result will be the same for either one

He's being harsh but I tend to agree. Berto might as well step up and get a shot at Pacquiao as a fresher fighter than any of the other options. Then he can fight Khan or something.

    Solution:

JMM - Pacquiao - Pacquiao will win.

Berto - Mosley - Winner gets a shot at Pacman

Berto is a bum, he'd get sparked by both Pac and Mosley.

I hope they give it to Berto who has more in the tank and isnt 0-1-1 in his last two

has Moseley won a fight since '09 its almost '11

Berto is a tough counter puncher in his prime who is fast and has decent defense and is usually in exciting fights

Id rather this fight or Marquez

No way do I want to see JMM fight Pac at welterweight unless JMM proves himself at welterweight first.

What ever happend to earning your shot at the title? Mosley has had two insipid performances and gets access to the p4p #1 or either the WBC champion? Mosley should fight a contender at welter to prove he deserves a shot.

Berto is the most logical and respectable choice for Pacquiao.
