Everyone is talking about Berto doesn't deserve a shot but how did Clottey deserve a shot how did Margarito deserve a shot how is Mosley deserving of a shot, who the hell actually deserves a shot by these logics, does Marquez? Who hasn't even beaten anyone at Welter, no Berto deserves a shot because he's undefeated, the WBC Champion, young and is very talented and he won't just stand in front of Pac with slow hands no defence and get beat to the punch time and time again.

Berto has fast hands, young legs, has better power than Pac IMO, and just a whole different style that Pac has faced since moving up, if you're not a Top Rank fighter you're not going to get a fight with Pac, it's time for Pac to fight some winners not recent KO victims(Cotto-Hatton) and punching bags(Clottey-Margarito).

Pac's fans keep his cherry-picking, in-house fighting and non-defensive opponent facing legacy alive, if you've just been recently KO'ed, promoted by Top Rank, have no defence, slower hands, or is old and past it you to can be the next Pacquiao opponent.

What did Jones do at heavyweight before Ruiz?
What did Cotto do at 154 before Foreman?
What did Robinson do @ lt hvy before Maxim?

As long as fighters have a name they pretty much can move up to challenge belt holders as they please. Even if guys don't have a name they still can challenge those above their division. Not saying JMM has a chance at WW but if he fought Pacquiao there I wouldn't hold anything against him or say he didn't deserve it.

.... out of the 3, Mosley still poses the highest risk and with the most money.

A fight with Mosley still makes the most sense at 147.

If Pac fights Berto and destroys him like he is supposed to, then Berto has always been a bum. So why the hell would Pac fight Berto for less Money that Shane? Pac is in a no win situation unless Floyd decides to fight him.

Pacquiao should just retire imo. Not much options now for him.

Ruiz was an established Champion at that weight though. So was Foreman. Jones and Cotto challenged guys who were champions at that weight even if they weren't the best champions.

Margo wasn't the champion at 154 he wasn't even the champ at 147 at the time.

mosley is the safer fight then berto.mosley will be 40 in the ring and he only has a early 1st 3rds punchers chance against manny.after that i see a manny dominating, late tko possible.now berto makes the fight interesting, atleast with berto he can box and will trade.speed and power and thirsty, so i can see him making the fight close until he gets koed or maybe the other way around.mosley is the better win for manny on paper and thats it, berto is the real challenge to manny or mayweather.

The Clottey fight was more a fight to get more used to the 147 weight. Margarito fight was money fight for paper titles. Fightnig Mosley is a solid money fight with another big name.

I understand all these moves and don't knock them for making good smart business moves. But people have gotten really hypocritical because they would knock other fighters for making business moves yet defend there favorite fighter when he does the same thing.

I'm not defending Pacquiao facing Margo I was talking about JMM. I'm just saying that I wouldn't mind if JMM faced Pacquiao despite it being HIGHLY possible that he doesn't have any success there(0-1 so far). Still, my point was other guys have gotten shots at higher weights without first beating the contenders there. As far as Pacquiao moving up, his best win in recent years was Cotto imo but it is slightly plagued because of catchweights. I admit that as a Pacman fan.

Mosley was swinging for the fences in parts of the 9th round in the Mayweather fight it's just that Floyd's D was too good throughout the fight except for the 2nd but that's it. Mosley has a better chance to catch Pacquiao so that makes the fight interesting though he still fits the description of Pacquiao's recent opponents, there to be hit. To add that Pacquiao is fluid with his combinations, throws a lot, and has fast hand&footspeed doesn't help Shane either.

I thought u were talking about Margo. I agree with you then, JMM faced the best at 147 at that time while jumping 2 weight classes. So being 0-1 doesn't mean much.

Brash statements to a great guy, but quite true. Time for Pacman to fight others than just retreads.

All you guys asking for Pac/Berto are gonna be REAL sad when Berto gets starched early a'la Ricky Hatton. I wonder what the excuses will be after that?

I bet most of you would probably just say "he cherrypicked another opponent". Trust me, Berto ain't worthy.

He would have been in a better position to ask for Pac-JMM 3 had he beat Mayweather but lets be honest, that would not happen especially on that night.

true true, mosley can land his own **** in the middle of the exchange hoping to hurt manny before manny can hurt him.i see manny landing 5 to mosley 3, give or take.mosley will have the power and some speed and the chin and will but to me manny might where him out.all that talk about manny not fighting african american fighters because of the slickness may cause problems is bs because not all african americans are slick.most are because thats how they are taught in the gym but alot have other styles.mosley is power boxer, thats what his dad calls it.mosley fights like the mexicans with speed and power and likes to bang.he was never slick just fast as **** with power.

i just feel berto even unproven as just what a boxer would need to pull off a upset or close to it against a fighter like manny.i think he is a high risk low reward as well.
