And what was Khan doing those 2 years? Struggling against ancient Diaz? Beating recovering alcoholic Collazo? Failing to impress against Algieri?

Are you kidding me??? The only thing questionable about the Kotelnik fight was whether or not Khan shut Kotelnik out. He also clearly beat Algieri and Diaz. The Peterson fight Khan actually lost, but that was questionable, and then Peterson got found out to be juicing and so the result should not stand anyway.

Oh, Khan "clearly" beat ancient Diaz, and Algieri. Someone give him a medal.

He didn't look impressive in either of those fights.

    He clearly beat them though.

Why is Mayweather rewarding a known doper? WHat's he trying to say with that?

Khan is clearly a better pick than Berto. Khan's coming in on a 5 fight win streak with a couple decent wins in there. Berto has lost 3 in his last 6 and his wins weren't as good as some of Khan's.

Khan is ranked as a top 5 welterweight by places like ESPN, Ring, TBR, etc and none of them have Berto in their top 10.

Berto isn't a bad fighter and probably slightly better than the negativity around the fight would make you think, the problems with the fight are:

1 Fight should have been on CBS not ppv 2 Mayweather fights 1-2 times a year and is near the end of his career. People want to see him with the absolute best opponents not mismatches 3 The biggest problem with this fight is that its a mismatch

do people not read stuff online??

Stephen Espinoza = the guy who has a lot of say in the floyds fights put together has aleady said 1 of the reasons Floyd didn't fight khan or brook os brook aint known in us, and khan would of just been coming of Ramadan so would be weakened

I dunno how true that is........but theres probably half the answer for berto.

Yeah, there are some good fights out there for Mayweather and he was looking at Berto and Mayfield. I'm still not sure why he went with Berto anyways.

There are better fighters and bigger draws out there than Berto. It definitely seems Mayweather wanted to take the easiest fight that he could realistically get away with.

Berto has better losses, Khan has better wins.
