Sorry I couldn't help it. Berto's promoter Lou Dibella is in talks to possibly match him with the Turkish fighter Selcuk Aydin. The fight would take place in a soccer stadium in Turkey without the backing of HBO. Talks with Golden Boy for a unification bout against Mosley have stalled due to GB's offer which turns out to be less than what Berto has been making in his recent fights. Dibella is also having trouble making a rematch against Collazo due to insuffient funding from HBO.
Turks got benjamins like a mutha****a. Don't blame Berto one bit, especially since most welterweights will destroy him.
good fight, it'd be nice to see a bigish fight go to turkey, the turks love their boxing and this would sell out a football stadium
This would be a very intriguing fight. He (Berto), so far, would probably make more money fighting Aydin than anyone else. Hopefully showtime picks it up.
Ayidin has some good power open to alot of shots but from what i've seen of him seem to be a tough Mean SOB. it should be a good fight
That makes no sense. So your suggesting HBO would rather pay Berto more money to fight guys that would generate less ratings for them? It's clear that the network is running out of funding for the year and is trying to budget their spending to present more quality fights.
I would love for this fight to happen and if it is in Turkey, man I watched on DVD the way Aydin finished the undefeated Bonsu and he KO'ed him. They absolutely adore Selcuk aydin out there and Berto would be fighting in the lions den. Aydin is just pure aggression all night long. Doesn't mind an in close battle. Not sure what would happen but this is one of those fights that you dont want to miss if you are a true boxing fan because these are the fights that dont get shown and upsets happen and all we have is articles about it the next day. Anyway I hope it happens
oh god dammit. i was expecting to see dibella setting up a thanksgiving day super fight. berto ko 2 a turkey. the turkey would be too fast for about a round, but it would tire and berto would catch up to it in the 2nd.
