I pick Clottey in a burner....Clottey is physically big and strong at welter and has the style to beat Berto....a style that nearly worked for Collazo, who is not as strong as Clottey....Clottey SD
I'd take Clottey right now by knockout or wide ud..Berto is still Green...I had him beating Collazo by 1 point and Clottey IMO is a better boxer than Collazo and his good power!
Clottey UD,probably wide.Berto can't hurt him and would get countered all night coming in.Would be exactly what Clottey wants.
Clottey by a clear UD...Clottey may fight in spurts but he is still gamed for Berto...Berto gets hit for my liking...He has good speed and power but he needs to learn how to block shot instead of eating them.
I would say Clottey by either late round stoppage or UD 12. Both men are powerful and aggressive but I gotta give it to Clottey because Berto is still green and would probably be too aggressive and get caught too often. Whatever the outcome is it would be very exciting and I think this match is a must at 147 pounds by 2010.
Clottey UD or late stoppage but i'm leaning more towards a late stoppage as Berto is still very green and gets careless when he attacks. Clottey can cover up, is noticeably bigger, and can counter effectively.
Clottey late tko...Clottey has good speed, excellent defence and better power than Collazo who buzzed Berto a few times...
i don't see Berto as being green at all....Collazo took whatever 'green' Berto had left....Berto also has a strap, he ain't green at all....making mistakes doesn't mean green, Berto is not gonna fight any different than he does now so he's in his prime....
I voted for Berto by accident. At this stage I'd favor Clottey by UD however if Berto develops and hones his talent the way I think he's capable of then in the future I'd pick Berto and won't look back. His speed is unmatched at welter and he's p4p one of the fastest in the sport. He also sits down on his punches and throws them from all angles. With improved defense and movement I'd favor him over Clottey who at times is stagnent with his offense.
I think Berto wins close. Clottey has a tendency to shell up under pressure, and he hasn't had problems evading a left handed jab, which is Clottey's best weapon. I do think Carlos Quintana kicks his ass though.
