Props to Berto for taking the challenge head on..... we need more fighters willing to take risk in this sport, reading about Mayweather Alvarez this morning just made me sick to my stomach...... I dont see how any fight fan or Floyd fan can be proud of this move.

mosley ko,respect to berto for stepping up though, ive got a feeling either the wba or wbc will strip one of theses to prevent it being a unification...hope im wrong.

Your not wrong, the WBC will strip Berto, and give it to either the Pac Cotto winner, or they will allow Floyd to fight for it against Saul Alvarez...
aint nothing like a free belt huh?

If Saul Alvarez is selling out 10-15k plus in mexico ... his sky is the limit. And Mayweather would be a fool not to make a huge event like that ... I read that Arum is talking about denying the public Mayweather vs Pacquiao ... so hey thats the next biggest thing ... and i'm sure that fight would sell ... only thing hurting this fight is that Alvarez doesn't have more to bring to the table (although he has alot) ... he should have the WBC strap ...
I read that the WBC is thinking about stripping Berto in the event that he fights Mosley ... and i'm sure that Collazo, Aydin, or Alvarez will be fighting for that strap.

Good point Bazooka ... I never thought about the WBC making Mayweather v Alvarez for the WBC title. I doubt that Floyd would accept that, because he was talking a lot of **** about winning vacant titles.

The only reason you say Alvarez should have the WBC strap is cus Floyd might be fighting him.....

Good stuff... nice to see Berto REALLY step it up! All the fights I've seen with him and I'm still not sure exactly where his skill level fits in the bigger scheme of things. I picked Mosley by KO.

Is Alvarez a heavy consideration on Floyd's part? Because if so, I'm freakin disgusted:barf

If there aren't any other options outside of Cotto, Mosley, or Pacquiao are all tied up and i'm sure the loser of Cotto v Pacquiao is going to take a nice vacay ... then why can't Floyd make the next best event ... a huge showdown on foriegn soil against Mexico's biggest welterweight star.

I hope the WBC will have some class and make someone fight for the interim title instead of stripping Berto or the winner of the fight. They should give Berto or the winner the same option the WBO gave JMM, should he win, he should have time to set up bigger fights and avoid the headaches of madatories ... but if Mosley wins, there should be no way, he should be mandated to defend the WBC against anyone for atleast a year ... I know that he has to have a madatory coming up for the WBA strap though. I don't get it either, the chances of either of those guys defending those straps against Madatories are slim ... they're keeping the straps as credentials and using them to set up big fights.
