    Politely declined, PM'ed some pointers.

Road less traveled - who knows? :conf I'm not gonna say you can put lipstick on a pig or polish a turd, but maybe with me in his corner he doesn't go on a 10-L skid. (nine by early KO) :!:

Nice kid, and eager, I'll give him that. Just...not much of an IQ, of the ring or general variety...and no chin.

Well at least he's intelligent enough to FINALLY give it up, although it being quite late.

I never understood the reason as to why people would continue to box despite being ko'd that many times.

I thought BP was going to post Kompayak-Hernandez I, which was my choice for FOTY.

    :good

I was throwing up a wild card :hey

A lot of great fights that year but I think this was the most under-the-radar one. No argument with the Hernandez, Yaegashi or Maruqez fights getting it. The fact Berto Vs Ortiz was anyone's is mystifying.

The sleazy commissions that continuously license them are the ones that ought to scare (and infuriate) you.

Berto vs. Ortiz was a tremendous fight but I felt that Hernandez vs. Kompayak I was the deserved 2011 Fight of the Year... Berto vs. Ortiz was one of the best fights of the year though. People sort of hating in this thread.

You won't find too many bigger Chris John fans on this forum than me, but John vs. Yordan better qualified than Berto/Ortiz?! Even Concepcion vs. Marquez I was way too one sided for me to praise it as much as many do. Rubio vs. Lemieux better fight than Berto/Ortiz? It was a drama-less one sided seek and destroy mission for 6 rounds until Lemieux gassed and then got battered and stopped all within the last round and a half.

    Kim vs. Manakane? Yeah, definitely.

I was gladdened to see it had about 20k hits on YouTube.

That rumble will basically serve as the sole legacy of both men in terms of the global boxing zeitgeist, since we can safely assume both are now thoroughly ravaged by & done with the sport - and neither while active ever became a known quantity beyond maybe regionally.

Of course, 20k hits doesn't put any food on Kim's or Manakane's table, but at least it means recognition for their mutual display of tremendous heart, rising well beyond their modest station in the grand scheme of things.
