Who wins if Andre Berto fights Victor Ortiz at 147 (since I assume Ortiz will move up welterweight sometime in the future anyways).

I don't know, Ortiz boxing skill is a little better but Berto has superior speed and power.

I think Berto might take it also, I'm yet to see Ortiz face a quality opponent so I don't know how good he really is.

I would go with Berto he's the bigger, stronger and faster guy and has fought better comp. Berto is the smart pick here with level of opposition alone being the deciding factor IMO.:deal

IN terms of raw power, they are neck and neck but the difference is Ortiz is about precision punching. His punch placements are alot better.. Berto gets sloppy at times and Ortiz would take advantage of that. Ortiz' timing is much superior too and timing beats speed.

    Id pick Ortiz without hesitation.

looks like you were right. I made this thread almost two years ago prior to Ortiz quiting against Maidana, back when he was being hyped to be the next great thing. Funny how things have changed.

I'm surprised Hatesrats hasn't commented and said how brilliant he was for his accurate prediction of the fight taking place 2 years from when the thread was started.
