    ok then.

You ever see guys get carried out of the ring on a stretcher from taking too many shots? It aint cool, if you like that you like boxing for the wrong reasons.

I like KO's as much as the next guy but I don't want to see people seriously get ****ed up.

first big rockage of a punch...and it was berto's...so fight over...they would have kept it going if quintana let one of those fly on berto.

i'm a little dissapointed..... I need to see Berto win a fight without a doubt...just for once.

    Agree.

If Cotto was ever the fighter we fans wanted him to be, he certainly isn't anymore.

I actually expect him to struggle with and possibly lose to Foreman.

Of course, even if he does HBO would still sell Berto-Cotto as a clash of "two of the best at 147"...and the winner would be placed right up there where they don't belong with Pac and the Mosley-Mayweather winner.

    It does.

It shows he was ok with the stoppage. His corner didn't complain either, so they were also fine with the stoppage.

It was a good stoppage. Maybe a few seconds premature, but 5-6 punches later and it would have been over, possibly by devestating KO.

No I love to see more wrestling and holding than actual punching in my fights. Berto > God.

5-6 punches that may or may not have landed.

A different fighter with a different corner might have complained in the exact same situation. You can't judge a good or bad stoppage on wether the fighter is complaining about it.

As far as the stoppage, I thought it was well timed. Quintana was taking a lot of punishment leading up to it, and was hit with a hell of a right hand that was only going to see him get put out on a stretcher if he stayed up. It was time to end it.

    Skepticism, not hate. :good

He's been mentioned in the same breath as guys like Mayweather for years now as one of the premiere athletic specimens in the sport, with the addendum "He just needs a little more refinement to cross over into elitedom..."

Well...those who've been holding their breath have asphyxiated by now.
