im gonna go with urango on this one. urango is a strong welter with power. i dont think berto will be able to keep him off. he will get hit and he has not tasted real power like urango's yet!

I'm starting to lean towards Berto, I think the Collazo Fight might have been his turning point. Berto defo does not want to get into exchanges with Urango. (He will get KTFO)

This fight will prob mark the start of a different Berto fight plan.
(More movement & use of his speed, similar to a Floyd'ish style if you will)

Hard to call, By my first choice is Berto by UD.

I thought the Estrada fight where he went life and death would be his turning point, but he made no noticable improvements.

How many turning points does this kid get?

Berto should win, but I would bet on Urango.

The strong welter has exactly 0 fights at welter.

Urango is a hard dude. He was also in the military. I don't think he's a punk. He'll be strong.

And where did I say he's a punk?
I think he is a strong dude but I don't think he will cop with Berto's speed and athleticism and he hasn't fought at welter yet, that will probbaly slow him down even more.

I agree.. I'm defo not one of those who say he aint ready, That prospect **** went out the window the day he became a world champion.

He is ripe now, by force.

I agree that Berto has speed and power, but he's his athleticism is kind of lacking to me as I think he appears somewhat stiff and easy to hit, and his footwork leaves a lot to be desired.

His combinations are definitely flashy though, but Estrada who doesn't have much athleticism either and doesn't have the punching power of Urango was almost even with Berto until he finally started to fade and got knocked out.

But Estrada doesn't appear to me to be a strong welter.

Urango's height, and his guard, will make him open for uppercuts though, but Berto needs distance to throw them effectively. If Urango can consisantly close the distance and stay right on top of Berto, he can win the fight as Berto will slug it out like he usually does.

Berto by UD. Urango really ****ed himself by moving up in weight for this one. :-(

I'm taking Berto by Decision. I would have rather seen a rematch with Collazo or him against Judah. He's fighting a Jr. Welterweight - with decent power - but I don't think Urango has enough to beat Berto.

I think Berto has the power to stop Urango though.

on a Friday Night Fights telecast where Urango fought Nasser Athumani, his opponent did get wiped out, but had some success in landing solid shots on Urango (who does have a solid chin)

with that in mind, if Berto can keep the distance, he certainly has the power IMO to hurt Urango

Good post but Berto should win this.
Ngoudjo would have succeeded at outboxing and keeping Urango at bey if his jaw wouldn't have been broken.
I just don't see Berto losing altough Urango is a live dog though.

I'm going with Berto UD, but I'm not totally sold on him.

I don't understand why Urango is moving up though. He just grabbed a belt and there are plenty of contenders in the LWW division who I would favour him over. Does he have trouble with making weight or something?
