Loads of people are getting that tribal tattoo - now it's summer expect this tattoo to be rocking up everywhere

 

Whats the point of that tattoo ?

 

It's the "I just lost a fight so this tattoo is supposed to symbolize my return to warrior supremacy!! " see: Cotto, Mosley. Sadly it never seems to turn out that way.

More fighters need to take the Montiel approach to losing, and just say "I lost, he was the better man that night, lets train harder so we can be better next time" Like a ****ING MAN, and not get all teen angsty and get tattoos/change thier hairstyles hoping people will see the new "you". That is not the reason you lost.

Shane Mosley- Got cool young tattoo to compete with younger Mayweather- got schooled
Miguel Cotto-got new tattoo to make up for first loss- Pacman KO'd him.
Kelly Pavlik-got a bunch of new tats to make up for first loss-his end is near
Mike Tyson-went bald AND got a bunch of tats including a face tat.- we all know how his career ended

Bernard Hopkins- Loses pro debut-trains harder. Loses to Jones- Trains Harder. Gets robbed after his 10 year run as middleweight champ. TRAINS HARDER. Today he's the RING lightheavyweight champ and oldest champ of all time.

For the last time, Cotto is not done/washed up. He is past prime but he can pick up a couple of wins and retire gracefully. People talk about the guy like he has no future, he does it's just up to him and his team to prepare him for the rest of his career. With Berto, he always was going to lose when tested and Collazo(got robbed) & Ortiz confirmed this.

 

Good post. Since the Jones loss, no one has beat Hopkins clearly but only Taylor rematch could've gone either way. As far as getting tats, nothing wrong with that it's just that fighters do need to just admit they were beaten(especially when they get gifts) and stop making excuses. Not sure how Paul Williams will come back but he admitted Martinez got him good and made no excuses after the fight. Not bright on his part saying he'd fight Martinez "The same way" if there was a third fight.
