I saw Berto fight Ortiz and he has some glaring flaws and shortcomings as a fighter. While I can see how all this will make him a better sprinter and help him run faster, I cannot see how it will make him a better boxer.
Unless he is leaving pugilism for track and field, he should find a better trainer and put some hours in the gym.

He is picking up some Bed habits doing that. His Proprioceptive ability is being channeled the wrong way. Feet are directing the Head, should be the other way round

Remember Hatton doing all kinds of different training such as this. Helped his conditioning, which is what his coaches were hoping in that he could outlast and overwhelm his opponents. IMHO, I think a lot of guys today depend too much on this aspect of the game and end up expending too much energy and time on it when they should be in the gym working on technique and sparring.

  5. But the idea of this is to aid his explosive fighting style right?

Bumpy, Then put the Resistance, on the Head. Or Lighter, been doing this stuff 45 years, but in Balance. This Guy is all over the place.

  7. And so what hes doing is basically detrimental? or does it still benefit him?

Now Berto will have more energy to burn during fights before he gases out.

Mat, in movement the Head directs the Body to where it wants to go. What they are doing, is forcing the reverse motion, which causes Consciousness of the Bio mechanics of movement to suffer, causing an imbalance and a good chance of injury.

Do you mean as in a subconcious level mentally or as in a more physical sense in that the body gets used to movements that are imbalanced (running where your momentum is going forward?)? If im completely wrong please pull me up but thanks its interesting. How would you suggest someone improved conditioning etc. outside of the gym or is sprinting fine as long as it is not focussed on too highly?

Consciousness is Subb as well. Everything we do is through Feel, if the program is wrong the results will be as will be the transportation of thought, and where it starts The Head.
