DiBella said he "..wasn't sure if it would be Berto's next fight.." That's a clear sign to me I can't take him very seriously on this. When Berto and Collazo start branching off in different directions away from each other anything can happen, and that's exactly what DiBella is likely hoping for. New storylines will develop, people will forget, ect.

Agreed, it's never going to happen. It's just lip service, it'll all break down over something stupid on purpose.

DiBella in the interview said it will happen if HBO puts up more money for the rematch. in the same conversation he said there will be an announcement for Taylor by the end of this week. No mention of Malignaggi.

NOBODY WANTED TO FIGHT PAUL AT 147! He was trying to get fights and nobody wanted to fight him...Mosley said no, Judah said no, Quintana said no, Berto said no, Cotto never responded after the Margarito-Williams first bout, AND MARGARITO SAID NO TO 4 MILLION FOR NOVEMBER 29TH-THE NIGHT PAUL FOUGHT PHILLIPS!

Wrong. Watch it again. Berto clearly gets his legs under him and knows the ropes are behind him and leans back into them instead of stepping back.

I hope this rematch happens it was a great fight. I'll lose some respect for Berto if it doesn't.

He didn't say no..he said not right away..I think the fight should happen sometime this year though...I had Berto winning by 1 point but the fight could have gone either way...If Berto takes 1 fight before fighting Collazo again I wouldn't blame him at all...but the rematch needs to happen in Berto's next 3 fights at the most...

**is there any truth to the mandatories cannot get instant rematches?

it would explain why Kendall Holt had to fight Ben Tackie before rematching Ricardo Torres.
