2 defensive juggernauts squaring off, nothing each have ever seen before. I see Floyd and Pernell being a great fight, where Floyd finally stops Pernell in the 10th round after a barrage of right hands. A fight where both fighters win rounds but Floyd gets the better of it starting from the 7th round onwards. Floyd's extremely accurate punching starts to be a huge problem for Pernell, Pernell starts slowing down because Floyd's accuracy/power is starting to get the best of him. Floyd starts amping up the offensive pressure hardcore and drives Pernell into the ropes in the 10th round, delivers an onslaught of punches and Pernell slumps onto the ropes in the 10th and the refs waves the fight off. Now, who else COULD beat Pernell Whitaker in this era?! Manny Pacquiao? Juan Marquez? Keith Thurman? Timothy Bradley? Anyone else? Discuss.
You've for sure got a box of Kleenex and some KY jelly on hand whenever you write about Floyd Mayweather.
