Besides Roy Jones, which fighter in history would be best equipped to beat Calzaghe?

Would it be someone like Hagler? Perhaps a LHW champion of old? A counterpuncher or a knockout artist? Give your input.

    Nobody

I can confirm Roy Jones would have a chance, on his day

At what weight class? LHW? MW?

I don't think for a second that Calzaghe could have beaten Michael Spinks at LHW.

Jones is on a different level. I think Toney would have picked Calzaghe apart.

Yes, James Toney had a reactive style which was too slow to deal with Jones's speed, he would also have the same problem with Calzaghe. There are some similiarites between Ray Robinson and Calzaghe, so it is not unreasonable to assume that the guys who gave Robinson problems would do the same for Calzaghe.

Joe has only fought at 168 and Darius at 175.

I have to agree here, Monzon would be poison for Joe.

Toney was not slow at 168. Calzaghe does not have Jones' speed either.

    1) James Toney
    2) Roy Jones
    3) Marvin Hagler
    4) Bernard Hopkins

All would easily take Calzaghe prime for prime...
