Besides Roy Jones, which fighter in history would be best equipped to beat Calzaghe?

The sooner you start judging boxers by their actual skills, rather then whether they have United States plastered across their passport the better

 

Man I can't beleive all the people that think joe calza is great enough to be comparing the greats of the past. He is not even a great fighter, just a very good one that never fought anyone. No all time greats on his resume, I just don't understand how one win can make you so great in many peoples minds. When I think of great fighters who are fighting today in my mind comes holyfield, hopkins, mosley, and it took them decades

 

At 168, the following would have the best chances other than Roy Jones: Bernard Hopkins, Carlos Monzon, Marvin Hagler, and James Toney. I wouldn't favor any of them over Calzaghe though.

At 175, I would favor Spinks, Foster, Jones, Moore, Charles, Moorer, Saad Muhammad, Qawi, and some others who I can't think of at the moment.

 

Micheal Moorer would have definetly beat Calzaghe.

 

At 168, I would have to say Michael Nunn....he was tall for the weight, had underrated power and toughness, and could fight inside and outside, box and bang, and threw plenty of leather and could match Calzaghe's workrate. He was also a southpaw. This would be a pick em but IMO at 168 he has the best shot outside of Roy Jones.....Calzaghe would box circles around even a prime James Toney who was only troubled by busy hands, and fast feet.

 

Joe could probably beat both those guys ON THE SAME EVENING.

A prime BHOP wouild give Joe a serious run (But IMO, would lose)
