Rocky should not be on the list.

He destroyed fighters with his stamina, knocking people down with about 20-30 punches.

Charles, Walcott, Cockell, LaStarza, Moore were all knocked out by single punches inside 5 rounds.

Single punch powerwise Rocky was not even in the top ten for his era. Also his meaning full wins are old light heavies who could not live with the pace he set.

Stamina for a heavy up there with dempsey, as a puncher, well decent power. i do not count needing 30 punches the same as single punch power.

The only guy he knocked out was Walcott, who never made it passed joe louis bum of the month contenders in his twenties because of a weak jaw. Walcott was koed by a light heavy, i think his name was tiger fox.

Where would George Foreman while wearing an apron and doing an infomercial rank? I think I'd put him around 8.

It's interesting how over looked and forgotten Weaver is ... the man had devastating power in either hand ... he nearly took Holmes head off ... he flatten an undefeated Tate with one shot in the final seconds of the fifteenth round, showing massive late round power ... he flattened a very tough Coetzee with a crushing right also late in a bout ... he nearly broke Carl Williams in half with a monster hook while himself being on the verhe of a KO loss in the second round of their bout ... for pure power, Mike Weaver was one of the best two handed hitters we've had ..

Also nice to see some educated fans rate Lyle here as he belongs ... a few less informed regulars underestimate him ..

What about Alex Stewart and Burt Cooper?! Mcall said the hardest he was hit was by a left hook from Cooper.

Liston should be way way higher on the list - think it was Chuck Wepner who said something like "I fought loads of guys that could really hit, George Foreman included and NOBODY ever hit me like that guy (meaning Liston) hit me!!"

Walcott said that Marciano hit harder than Joe Louis - so I'd have to have Rocky pretty high on the list.

Earnie Shavers I guess would be pretty high up based on multiple Foreman/Shavers common opponents giving Shavers the edge in power

    those are just some observations

Ingemar Johansson can't be left out of any discussion of "pure power", because that's all he was about, really.
