Who is the best boxer for going the distance in 15 round championship fights.

Who kept an even pace, pressured their opponent, normally swept the championship rounds and was consistent?

Ali stopped Wepner and Bonavena in round 15, came close to stopping Shavers in the final stanza, and Carlos Padilla has said he would have stopped Manila about 45 seconds into round 15 if Frazier did not rally in that time. He has a case as the best heavyweight over the championship limit.

However, the incredible Nel Tarleton won more than 30 times over the championship distance with a single lung, produced a couple more 15th round knockouts, was never defeated by stoppage, and retired a winner at age 39 as British and Empire FW Champion.

Monzon and Saldivar come immediately to mind. Guys like Arguello and Spinks as far as generally coming into their own and finding the range the further the fight progressed. Carlos Ortiz was also great at gradually breaking his opponents down before finishing them off in the later rounds.

Vicente Saldivar was a great 15 rounder. Usually set the pace up in the later rounds.

yep. all the other mentions are solid ones, but,
no one was a better endurance fighter than
henry armstrong. due to his abnormally large
heart he would some times do 15 rounds of
boxing just to "get warmed up". ch-ch-chea
    homicide hank was that dude!

  14. "Smokin",
Joe is a very good pick .
