I’d say Ingo prob hit just as hard as those guys. If he can survive these men he could prob hang w more people then we would think. I think guys like Bruno were good and Mercer but their delivery much like Oscar against the best guys was lacking. But u certainly could be right. Idk how modern day Patterson would adapt.

I haven't seen one boxer in this thread who wouldn't bounce Patterson off the canvas at least twice. Morrison would hit him with a left hook and send his head out the ring. Bruno would maul him, Mercer would be merciless on him, etc.

He might beat Byrd, but probably not. Seldon could be encouraged to take a dive.

Patterson would make Morrison look like the palooka with a big punch … again this place is so enthralled with big punchers even if that’s their only skill, it’s like baseball fans who will fight you that Nolan Ryan is the GOAT … that he was.

Patterson IMO was one of the 25 greatest heavyweight boxers who ever lived. (There are some other ATG assessments online that agree with me.) He would be favored against anyone in the 1990s who was below him in those rankings. He would not be favored against anyone above him.

And he’d beat a whole lot of people, but as usual here he’s dismissed as a glass-jawed jabroni.

I think Morrison gets more respect than Patterson does most often, lol. We gotta keep in mind that he got whooped by a past it Carl Williams ahead of a KO and got ripped in the first round by Michael Bentt.

He'd have a good chance vs any Berbick. Berbick had one of those Norton chins where it could take punches all night off a certain level puncher but go up a level or two and they struggled. Floyd hits harder and is much faster. Berbick doesn't have a big punch. The intangibles are good for Patterson IMO. I don't think Berbick would bull him out of it.

Patterson could outspeed Foreman but Foreman was bigger, stronger and had the power to put Patterson on the canvas and keep him there. Especially the 89-91 old Foreman

How many times did Ingo knock Floyd down
How many times did Johansson knockdown Patterson? 7 times, right? Liston knocked him down what? 5 times? Ali knocked him down how many times? Who else knocked him down during his career?

He's the definition of a glass jawed jaboni during the one of the weakest HW ages in history.

He wouldn't be a top 10 CW today. Usyk, Gassiev, Breidis would literally play with him till the inevitable ko.

Tommy Morrison, who I have never had any use for, not in real time or today, was not Ali or Liston, he wasn’t even Ingo.

And I believe the question was how he would fare in the 1990s, not 2024.

Despite all the knockdowns he was only ever stopped by Ali x 2, Liston x 2 and Ingo x 1. He avenged Ingo x 2.

He won plenty of fights from off the floor. Louis was down quite a bit too but only stopped twice and brutalized numerous opponents after coming off the deck.

Patterson could be dropped a bit but he won his fair share of fights off the canvas.

Using your laughable logic, Patterson would have a superior chin if he was knocked down once against these guys and stayed down.

Patterson would definitely beat the Holyfield who fought Moorer in their 1st fight.

The general disrespect for Floyd Patterson on this forum makes me want to puke.
