You are correct, he dropped the first fight to Benn, I mixed that up. Bottom line is, Malinga has a win over a top notch operator(while past his prime) in Benn, whereas a guy like N'Dou had no real skills and never beat anyone of note. Gatti was always a second tier fighter and was himself shot when he faced Floyd.
Well, I'm not going to dispute that as everyone knows Gatti was 'second tier' (if in fact that). Malinga was 'second tier', and so was N'dou, to be honest. The point is, I'm making an extended list to illustrate the quantity of Floyd's wins over good to great fighters. N'dou, for your information, beat the current IBF super featherweight champ in Cassius Baloyi in a lopsided affair in what I view as one of the better South African bouts in recent memory. This is just in case you didn't know, mind.
Thats not logical. Toney would have done better by a considerable margin had the fight taken place earlier in his super-middleweight reign. I will concede though that Jones would always have beaten him. Toney would have done better, no question. He would have been competitive.
Maybe I should have spelled it out. I did not intend for anybody to take it quite that literally. He would not have won, let's leave it at that. Will that suffice?
Why are you asking "Will that suffice?" When I have just said that in my last post "He would not have won".
Clearly, you did not understand my meaning right off the bat as I had to repeat myself. I was just asking plainly if my second explanation did enough to illuminate my point to you. You admit Toney would not have won had he been at his best, I agreed saying he would not have done better (i.e. win) had he been in tip-top condition. I believe those were my words exactly. Again I ask, will that suffice? I told you not to take my comments literally. Obviously, no logical person would subscribe to the idiocy of the claim that a weight-drained athlete performs at a level even approaching a well-tuned athlete. That's pretty much a given, Robbi. But perhaps I got a little ahead of myself. That's three times now I had to expound on what should be simple fight analysis-- an analysis you yourself endorsed-- when I was basically mirroring your opinion on the match-up.
