In all fairness, if someone is literally decapitating sparring partners in camp, I'd be suspicious too.

    Now, in regards to thread...

    Felix Tito Trinidad!
    From 1999-2001 he fought:
    DLH
    David Reid
    Mammadou Thiam
    Fernando Vargas
    William Joppy

Even though DLH deserved to win on points and Mammadou was a mandatory (as far as I remember), his opposition level was pretty damn good. In a span of five fights he unified titles in the welterweight division, won a title plus unified in the super welterweight division and won a title at middleweight.
He also fought Pernell Whitaker (although past his best) in 1999 and lost to Hopkins after the Joppy fight to determine the undisputed middleweight championship.

Not only were those meaningful and challenging fights, they were, for the most part, pretty entertaining. Trinidad, in spite of his haters, will be appreciated and remembered by the boxing world as one of the best fighters of his time and a true warrior willing to get into the ring against anybody that was considered a top fighter.

It's not a five fight streak since guys used to fight a lot more frequently back then but from 1942-1946 Jimmy Bivins had an undefeated streak where be beat Ezzard Charles, Archie Moore, Joey Maxim, Anton Christoforidis, Lee Savold, Lloyd Marshall, and Melio Bettina. That would all be in about the same kind of time frame as Floyd took to wrack up the five fights in the OP.

I also figure that guys like Ray Robinson, Henry Armstrong, and Archie Moore probably have some pretty impressive names in a three to four year period, in between which they probably fought a couple of journeymen.

He lost to Kessler and Ward. It is more impressive when you win all 5 like Mayweather has done.
