That's how I understood it too, all-British "title fight", as opposed to "British Title" fight.
There have been some *******s mentioned already, particularly Moore-Macklin and Benn-Eubank also.

But one that hasn't been mentioned yet which is one of my faves and it was for a title (I know it was the IBO!!) is Michael Ayers-Wayne Rigby. Great fight.

Why did it mark out the word "c-r-a-c-k-e-r-s"???? Is that a bad word?? Odd.

    You gotta be kidding, right?!

I was at the O2 for this fight, and it was the biggest anti climax ever!

As soon as he entered the ring we knew he wouldn't be hanging around for long.[/quote]

while I thought too that Maccarnelli let his nerves get to him on the night when he sprinted to the ring

    he claims different

in this video below he excusively reveals that

    *I didnt "freeze" whatosever

*Has "no fear" of Haye or anyone for that matter

*Would fight David Haye again "next week"

*Acknowleged he was a big puncher but so was Braithwaite

British Title wise, I would plump for PJ Gallagher/Charlie Sheppard.

All Britsh bouts: Well Benn/Eubank edges Eubank/WatsonII with mentions for Oliver/Mullings, Rigby/AyersI, Wharton/Castro Smith (Slugger O'Toole) and as a bit of fun, Benn/Gent.

Fidel Castro Smith got badly robbed in the Wharton fight, and never really recovered psychologically, IMO

You say that, but watch the fight without listening to Harry and Frank. Most at the Stadium figured Wharton had won, most on TV that Castro Smith had done enough.....

The Benn-Eubank-Watson tear ups rank above anything since (as yet). Sorry but it's true...

Reid v Calzaghe? Hatton v Thaxton? Get out of here.. :D;)

Also a modern British Title fight deserving mention would be when the wacky race of Young Mutley verses Michael Jennings ended with Mutley catching the pigeon and getting his Lonsdale Belt (medal)!*

*Sorry!!!! Of course if you are under 30, that post goes straight over your head!

It's an all British title fight, not a British title fight - though I guess they can be two of the same. :)
