This is my first post on amateur boxing forum - sorry if this question was posted earlier

So, who was the best amateur heavyweight? Two great names come to mind - Stevenson and Savon.

Thank you for all replies :good

Superheavys are welcome also. Does Baldado stand near Stevenson and Savon in achievments or h2h?

Baldado on potential, Stevenson and Savon. In the recent times - Povetkin.

    Savon and Stevenson.

In our era, without a doubt Alex Povetkin.

He was a very good amateur but not on Povetkin's level if we take the modern era. Povetkin won the olympics, world championships, european championships and the Russian nationals, the later two multiple times. He went for years undefeated. He's right up there with the best historically. While Chagaev beat the great Savon, the same can be said of Igor Vysotskii, who knocked out Teofilio Stevenson, but nobody claims Vysotskii was an ATG amateur heavy.
