Teddy Atlas with Michael Moorer in the Holyfield fight.

Worst:
Adam Booth with Dodson in the Quigley fight (last round).

 

Worst: Buddy McGirt - so many to choose from.

Tommy Brooks - Holyfield vs Tyson I & II & Valuev

Why Holyfield ditched Brooks is beyond me, having read Maloney's book they interviewed him to be Lewis's new trainer after the McCall fight - I think he'd have been just as good if not better than Steward.

 

Kevin Cunningham really impressed me with his cornerwork with Devon Alexander.
He took him back to the corner, sat him down. Kept him focussed and highlighted the gameplan. Exactly what was needed.

Also Mick Williamson the other night did a great job in Paul Smiths corner

 

Oh the worst cornerwork by a country mile is Lou Duva in the Taylor/Chavez fight, telling Meldrick something along the lines of he needed to win the last round and go out there and lay it on the line, what crass advise to give to a fighter of meldricks mentality and already extremely low boxing IQ. What a **** Duva was at times, he seemed so determined to undermine George Benton and had to have the last word in the corner.

I don't know why Holyfield got rid of Steward after the 2nd Bowe fight...oh yeah I do, he was being tight with his money.

For a fighter of Taylor's natural ability, his aptitude in the ring was extremely low and was way too much of a Philly fighter taking into account his style.

What the hell he was doing climbing on the ring apron I don't know - it might have been that little glance from Taylor toward him rather than responding to the referee that gave Steele the urge to stop the fight.

On that subject, I wonder if any British trainers get pissed off when Dean Powell starts talking over them - I'd insist on him being removed from the corner personally. I notice how he never did it when Freddie Roach was there :deal

unpadded gloves with plaster wraps and asthma medications in the water mixture.

what a two face ******* to hug the fighter on his return home from jail...and call him like a son...and say we gotta find who did this terrible injustice... and then to joke about him at a bar to other cats...

the best was him taking off all his jewelry and watches and chains and rings..and handing it over to the other trainer and then telling him ...when i do good...i will help you out...
