I'm not sure Dundee was bad with Leonard in Hearns I.

Tommy had Ray all but beat, outboxed him pretty clearly but was struggling to take the shots..... if I'd been around back then I'd have been gutted :-(

Jimmy is great to have in the corner, i've worked with him a few times now and he just lets you get about your job with no interference.
But at the same time, he's there to offer any observations if you need him, a very good man to have working with you.

Just remember reading in Boxing News before Williams 2nd fight with McDermott an interview with his trainer and he said that his other prospects were Bhatia.

 

To a tired lookiing Leonard before round 11 of the Hagler fight, "6 minutes, 6 minutes. 6 minutes and you're the champ. You can do 6 minutes can't you?"

The Petronellis were pretty poor in Haglers corner that fight, they just kept telling him how great he was doing. You could tell before the 12th that they had an idea he may not have done enough.

 

Who was Jones's cut man for Calzaghe? whoever it was he did a v poor job. His solution to the gaping gash appearing was to pour water on it again and again....

 

Haven't seen Norman Stone come into it yet. Although when Ruiz was getting beat by roy the "fight the ref" wouldn't have been a bad idea seeing as he wasn't fighting RJJ

Frazier could not see... He was blind... He was getting hit too easy...

For the fight to go so far and Futch to pull him out was such a brave decision very few could and would make... To allow Frazier to attempt to hear the final bell and take more uneccesary head shots and possibly be KO'd would have been the wrong thing to do...

IMO the best decision ever made in Boxing...:good

 

What the hell is up with all these amateur seconds and cutmen in the corners these days? we saw it in RJJ's corner and we saw a **** poor job in Paul Williams against Verno by not applying the pressure inswell timely then working the adrenaline correctly. Reminds me of those tools in Tyson's corner applying the condom filled with water vs. Buster.

It's not rocket science FFS, you apply some force down with the metal inswell and use that adrenaline to expedite the blood clot process...then a round or two later you hit that vaseline on it to not only act as a wound plug, but it also makes the opponent's punches slip off that area. Bloody amateurs.
