McIlvaney on Boxing is the best book I've read on the sport. Dark Trade is great, and although it's a short book This Bloody Mary is the Last Thing I Own is fantastic. Didn't want it to finish.

    Tysons was a decent read.
Cornermen is a good un as well.
My friend is currently reading the eammon mcgee book, he said it's brilliant. I will be reading that one when he's finished it.

Benny - about the great flyweight Benny Lynch is a must read for everyone up here.

Hands of Stone by Christian Guidice was a very enjoyable biography about Roberto Duran.

Ali's book by Thomas Hauser is a top read.

I'm currently on Eamonn Magee's book which is a brilliant read.

The Big Fight by Sugar Ray Leonard is good.

I started Unforgivable Blackness about Jack Johnson 10 years ago however it was hard work and I never finished it unfortunately.

"Fighting was my business."Jimmy Wilde .this book takes you back to a long forgotten tougher era . Jimmy was due to sail to America to fight but didn't get selected for the team for reasons I've long ago quit remembering, just as well as the name of the ship was the TITANIC ....True story .

    Nigel Benn by Nigel Benn

You get a real sense of the man himself. Although it’s not slick and not the best written, it gives you a very good perspective on who Nigel is in close to his own words.

Yeah excellent read mate, he is very open and talks about the despair of his brother dying and injuries and the financial hardship he suffered in boxing till near the end as he was injured alot. It's called Dazzling Darkness.

I haven't read a boxing book for years but that was excellent. I have a "20-page rule" for books. If they don't grab me by then, I pass on them. I read the whole 200 odd pages in about two days.

War, Baby by Kevin Mitchell around the Benn McClellan fight, the buildup and aftermath was superb as well.
