Worst : Howard Foster, pulls the trigger way too early, regularly!
Best: Victor Lachlan (loughlan), not sure on the spelling but when this guy ref's a fight, I hardly notice him, so he must be good!

Bob Williams is a good up and coming referee. I like his style of refereeing and he's an ex pro (I guess most are?)

I haven't got an issue with the majority of BBBofC refs. For me there will always be the argument against a premature stoppage, some I agree with and some I don't - naming no names.

For me it goes more pear shaped when these referees are actually judging fights. Terry O'Connor giving Cleverly the nod against Bellew last November (really?) and Richie Davies giving Burns a draw against Beltran (ok then!).

I'm never entirely sure why there is a retirement age for referees- Micky Vann clearly can still do a decent job.

Does the Irish board have an upper age limit?

Victor Loughlan's had a mention and he's one I'd second. Jeff Hinds is bloody good to, how he's not a star referee is mystery.

O'Connor and Ian John Lewis are terrible. Lewis jumps in too early when the visitor is hurt (and did the same against Brian Rose which was bloody strange) O'Connor can not be forgiven for his biasedness (he carried Cleverly to the corner FFS, disgraceful)

Steve Gray is a good ref, as is big Vic.

But yeah, I agree with most here. IJL isn't great

Ian John Lewis is dangerously inept. He actually waved Joshua vs Johnson off at the end of round one, then allowed an out-of-it Johnson out for round two anyway. Erratic, inept, and very keen to be in the spotlight. That he still gets licensed by the BBB of C is an embarrassment to British boxing.

IJL has no composure and he acts like a novice referee when it actual fact he is quite experienced. He certainly has to be the worst.

Yes, boxing is a dangerous sport and too early is better than too late when it comes to stoppages, but in this country, I have seen some ridiculous stoppages. Fighters been stopped when hurt and not even being given a chance to recover and ride the storm and survive.
