Fighters that demonstrated the agility and smarts to pivot, side-step, or switch at opportune moments so that they could position themselves to land on their opponents from optimum angles (spots where their opponents were out of position to defend or counter effectively). Any nominees? First that come to mind for me are: Lomachenko Rigondeaux Pacquiao Camacho O.Canizales Tyson Honorable mention maybe to Sumbu, Ivan Calderon (haven't seen enough of him but he seems to fit the bill), "Pretty Boy Floyd" Mayweather, and Edwin Rosario
Benny Leonard, Robinson, Dempsey, Julio Cesar Chavez, Pernell Whitaker, Riccardo Lopez, Jose Napoles... the list goes on... all guys with superlative offensive footwork. But I'll add one who it mostly from upperbody adjustments and slight foot position... James Toney.
Pryor, oh they were different angles then whats thought of by the book but they were angles. Were told Greb did likewise.
I always really admired the gracefulness of Cotto's footwork but I felt that he didn't quite have the speed to exploit it fully, from what I recall.
Duran was phenomenal at making people miss at close range and hitting them with sharp counters but some of the other guys on this list were much better at getting to spots where their opponents literally couldn't hit them if they tried, imo. Guys like Rigondeaux and Lomachenko get damn near perpendicular to a lot of their opponents.
Pryor was the first thing I thought of. Very exaggerated angles but they really worked. Naseem Hamed belong in here. That leaping corkscrew uppercut is against everything they teach in boxing, yet he perfected it and landed huge bombs to KO guys with it. Remarkable, plus Naz was very good as a southpaw throwing out that jab looking for a reaction then countering from a strange position. Look how he turned the tables on K Kelly by being off center line.
