It's Andre Dirrell FFS atsch the guy is so cowardly he makes Kermit Cintron look like Jake LaMotta in comparison.
Absolutely idiotic post. As if you can tell anything from looking at an athlete. Bodybuilders are the most muscular people and they are the opposite of being athletic. Then have a look at an olympic weightlifter, strongest and most powerful athletes in the world (vertical leap, 40 metre sprint etc.) and they often look like the average person with a gut. Basketball is a far more athletic sport than boxing is and MJ was still a standout. Roy Jones is my favourite boxer of all time, and was probably the most athletic boxer of all time. Clinton Woods, John Ruiz etc., those sort of guys aren't athletes at all so of course Roy is going to look amazing in comparison. MJ was a standout athlete in a sport with amazing athletes.
Ignorant post. I'm not American or a fan of the NFL but they are some of the greatest athletes in the world. Almost pure strength/power athletes running into each other. Their numbers in the weight room, vertical leaps and sprint times are up there with anybody in the world. Soccer players are very aerobic athletes so none of them are particularly impressive in terms of strength, explosiveness and power - the things associated with athleticism.
Not true at all. MJ got absolutely embarrassed in single A baseball. He was incredibly slow on the bases, and the only reason he even played was because of his name. Athleticism isn't just about one sport. Again, MJ would never be able to play a down of football or a half round of boxing.
It is very tough to say. Being that very few or none are ever multi-sport athletes or spent any amateur years in other sports even, it is difficult... Generally, I would imagine the top elite fighters will be the easiest to argue for. I'm not saying any of these guys are my choices, but they are all noteworthy and would be among my top choices: Wladimir due to size and his coordination and speed with it. Mayweather, Pacquiao, and Bradley are elites in boxing who have builds that are amazing and show off "athleticism" in the ring more than most fighters. Mayweather '98-05 was ridiculously athletic. Pacquiao '06-'09, the same. Ward, Sergio, and Donaire combine speed and power greatly, particularly Donaire for his size. Sam Soliman, Anthony Mundine, and Sonny Bill Williams achieved good success in boxing after other sporting careers, Mundine especially. Tom Zbikowski and Ray Edwards are both NFL players who went to pro boxing briefly recently. Lief Larsen apparently is a weight lifter/shot putter/other sports and activities possibly? I've heard a lot about his all around athleticism for a big man.
He switched sports after playing another for his whole life, of course he's not going to be successful atsch Especially in a sport that requires comparatively little athleticism.
