Best awkward fighters

Ask anyone who ever fought him, 'Is BH awkward?' I am fairly certain what every response will be.

Of course they will. But we're putting it in context here. We're talking about guys that do things out of the ordinary, that don't play by the rules. Hopkins does everything he's supposed to do in the ring to a tee. Of course they would say his awkward, because they are most likely coming out of the fight with a loss on their record and he's extremely tough to fight, but when you put that in context, it doesn't make him 'awkward'.

 

But that's because he's possibly more fundamentally sound than any active fighter.

I think we're talking about guys who have truly weird, awkward styles, not guys who produce awkward fights. :good

By the way, are you the guy that lives in Salisbury/Fernando Guerrero territory? Just wondering if you could tell me anything about this guy. I'm shamed to say I've never seen him fight, but I hear he's an exciting offensive fighter with defensive frailties. Is there any of his fights up for viewing?

 

Hopkins is awkward as ****. Has a habit of leading with his head so opponents have three things to worry about.

 

Well i wouldn't call his style awkward but his footwork makes him very hard for anybody to set themselves against.

 

I'm curious how many people agree with me on Paulie being awkward when he isn't circling and jabbing?

I guess we need to buckle down on an accepted definition. For me, awkward describes anybody who contributes to the "ugliness" of a fight. Granted, Paulie fought a string of guys who were themselves pretty awkward after Cotto - but if you substituted Floyd Mayweather or Steve Forbes in his place neither of them would have allowed it to get nearly as ugly.

For me, guys like Witter and Darchinyan epitomize awkward.

They almost have to have power, because they are doing so many things "wrong".

 

Pac is somewhat awkward, punches in weird angles.

 

Calzaghe
