My vote is lampley. Tessitore has a great broadcast voice and farhood is very knowledgeable and unbias in his commentary. But, lamps does it with a passion and rythym that is unmatched. What do you guys think?
I really hate how HBO changed the WCB intro theme. I still have Hatton-Malignaggi on my DVR b/c i think it's the last fight they used that theme.
This isn't one of those Hatton country miles, where he really isn't ahead... Lampley is great at getting me into a fight. Tessitore does have a great voice and is overall pretty good, but Lampley is a little better.
Lampley screws up a lot, and he isn't that good at hiding by bias, (it was crystal clear he wanted Cotto to beat Pacquiao) but, he is still the best. I hope he is around for quite some time.
Absolutely not. All the guys on hbo have there own agenda. They try to make boring fights more exciting and they always have there favorites. I like Sean Ogrady and Genaro Hernandez.
The fights videos that are beamed into the Philippines has always had Col. Bob Sheridan and/or Dave Bontempo as the blow by blow guys. They are the ones who I grew up with. Even the old HBO BAD fights that they show here, it had Dave Bontempo as the commentator. The Don King productions and the Top Rank guys. The original HBO team is only a recent thing for us here.
The Colonel is honest and emotive, a real fan of the sport and you can tell he gets absorbed into the fights themselves without needing to have a vested interest or preconceived idea of who will win. He may not be the best, but I'm never unhappy to learn he's calling a fight. :good
