3 fighters that were absolutely vicious body punchers and exemplified the ideal way of going downstairs, primarily the left hook to the liver. But who would you say was the most brutal of them all? Who was the best at breaking their opponents down via body shots?

The constant body shots that he gave to poor Edwin Rosario was excruciating. Also had Meldrick Taylor pee blood as well.

Don't think I've ever seen a more vicious body puncher then Chavez tbh

All three were excellent going to the body. So I'll refrain from
who I thought was the best.
But I will give one of my fondest memories of body punching
    excellence.
The year was 1982 (I think, going off memory) hard punching The "Hawaiian
Punch" Andy Ganigan was giving the Legendary Alexis Arguello
    a tough fight early.
Arguello finally catches Ganigan in round five with a blistering body and head
    combination.
Ganigan was given the full 10 count, and actually down a lot longer because
he was on the canvas withering around as if a hot spear had been run
    through him.
A combination of head and body punches that was simply beautiful
    in it's brutality!!!

    1. Chavez Sr - Vicious , steady and unrelenting
2 . AA - textbook perfection and power
3 . Duran. - Talented here but even better everywhere else.

    4. Mickey Ward has to be my all time favorite.

Duran was better than Chavez at every damn thing, yes, even body punching.

Watch Duran's lightweight fights against Guts or Vilomar Fernandez as proof.

Perhaps we can specify the kind of shots each men were good at. Arguello had a great right uppercut to the body. Chavez a great left hook etc.

All 3 are great great body punchers. As great as Chavez's left hooks were i personally favor Alexis and Duran because they utilized the rt hand more. Duran to the side and Alexis the uppercut like the old timers. On a side note I can't think of anyone who through the rt hand downstairs like Zale. The way he dropped his stance by bending his knees and firing that straight rt hand was beautiful. Nobody executed that punch like he did.

Pazienza said Duran hit harder than Roy Jones. Duran is an underrated body puncher. Chavez and Arguello certainly great too. Mike McCallum was nick-named the Body Snatcher but I think Chavez probably deserved that title as well.

    Hi Buddy.
Excellent breakdown of body punching by all 3 participants, and chime with my own thought process, bravo, as to my favorite it falls the little Aussie Barry Michael, wasn't as vicious as JCCs, or carried the power of AA, but it was sustained and fatigue inducing, he fought not unlike say a Ambers, or Zivic, up close and on your chest, had limitless stamina, and was hard to discourage at his best, a fine fighter who is greatly overlooked imo.
stay safe Maginot, chat soon buddy.
    Mike.

Then you haven’t seen what Jimmy Young did to the great Ron Lyle… absolutely feather dusted his ribs remember even pillows can suffocate you! - Jimmy also hits harder then JCC so I think you’re talking BS bud.
