Body shot KO's are relatively rare, and great to see. What's the best bodyshot KO you've seen? Here's two that come to mind for me Roy Jones vs. Virgil Hill - Easily number 1 in my mind. I still cringe when I think about this fight. People at ringside said it sounded like a shotgun going off Floyd Mayweather vs. Sharmba Mithcell - This is the only time I can remember a guy getting stopped by a straight shot to the body. As soon as Mitchell went down I knew it was over. The ref just stopped counting after 7.
Oscar's reaction was priceless. However, it didn't look like the punch was that hard(clearly it was alot harder than it looked)
I'd say Cotto/Quintana. How could you forget that. And of course you have to add hatton/castillo in. That mitchell body shot was priceless. Floyd threw his whole body in to that punch. Bent mitchell in half..lol
Mickey Ward's KO of Alphonso Sanchez. Ward was getting completly dominated to the point where they were thinking of stopping it because it was so non-competitive and then wham! One quick shot to the liver and it's over.
Not explosive in the same way as Gatti - Dorin and Mayweather - Mitchell, but the finish to Morales - Zaragoza was just as punishing a straight shot, and done on an even higher level. Great thread man. :good
