Just about every top 5, 10, 50 or 100 list has Robinson taking up the no1 spot with Ali not far behind, quite often no2, Im curious to know who you guys rank as numero uno when those 2 are excluded.

    For me, its....... WILLIE PEP.

It's probably Pep for me too, with Duran not far behind. Based on accomplishments, Greb is right up there, but I don't want to rank him there without seeing footage.

Holy ****... what was I thinking? He is my number 2. I just immediately went to my number 3, but I forgot Ali isn't my number 2.

    Armstrong is clearly mine too.

I would say Marvin Hagler is up there along with Duran. I also think that Carlos Monzon has to be up there close behind, along with Joe Louis. Since Lennox dominated Holyfield in their first fight and got screwed I would put him up there with the likes of Holmes, Louis and Foreman for Heavyweights.

After he suffered "near-fatal injuries" in a plane crash. Pep was 108-1-1 before the crash, the only loss coming from Sammy Angott (no shame there). Most say he was never the same fighter after the crash, and while he did lose the series to Saddler (an ATG himself), he also took him to school in the second fight in 49.

And just so you know, when Saddler KO'd Pep, it was just 10 days after Pep's last bout. Can you imagine ANYONE today doing that? He had 3 fights in just over 2 weeks. Different times mate, a loss didn't mean as much.
