Hopkins JUMPS to mind. And just like the best jab thread, I would also have to say Ali because he slipped them so easily. Pernell was pretty good at that too.

Watch him pound on Robbie Peden. First time I ever saw a fighter vomit in the corner from body shots.

The first two fighters that come to mind are BHOP and Roy Jones.

Who were all these fighters with great jabs that Hopkins neutralised?.Pavlik?

Winky Wright is about the only one that comes to mind and Hopkins looked like **** in that fight. Both of them did.Not exactly Duran mauling Buchanan was it.

Hopkins is good at shutting down other fighters attributes, but he's not been in with nearly enough top quality technicians to merit being rated as one of the best ever at this.

:patsch What are you talking about? Did you see the Winky fight? Hopkins completely neutralized his jab. Winky was busy but his punches had nothing on them. I give him credit for taking the fight to Hopkins but his jab was a non-factor. Winky's workrate made it seem closer than it was but the hard, clean, effective shots were all landed by Hopkins. Heck, even Lederman, who clearly showed bias against Hopkins scored it a draw. All 3 judges had it 117-111 or 116-112 and rightfully so. He made Winky look amatuerish.

Winky ended up on a milk carton after that fight and went missing just as Hopkins predicted before the fight.

I'd say that's more to do with Wlad having the best jab of the current heavies so beating his opponents with his offense, rather than negating their jab with his defence.

Hopkins and Calzaghe are good calls; their fight was always bound to be an ugly one given that they both throw their opponent out of their stride so well.

He stopped Calzaghe from establishing his jab for most of the fight, and Calzaghe has an excellent jab, often overlooked part of his game, he has won fights with it almost exclusively.

A great jab gives Mayweather fits. The one hole in the armor. His name should not be mentioned.
