I have a very general question, that i pray does not get invaded by *******s or *****s, but who do you think in boxing today or in the past used angles best in the ring as a part of their game? IMHO i would prolly say James Toney, Pac does a lil bit, but his is kinda just based on speed. Suggestions? Comments? Post vids if you have them.
He does alot. Alot of his knockdowns has come because he hit his opponent from some kind of freakish angle. Quick example is the KD of Cotto in round 3
Doesn't basically everyone use angles well when they're successful? Anyway, B-Hop comes to mind. The proper footwork to be in the right position so he can land and it's harder for his opponent to land. I remember Harold Lederman commenting that Tito was spending too much time coming forward in a line rather than at an angle. Right when he said it, Hopkins was hitting him with a right hand. Of course, he put his body in the right place to hit and not get hit.
have to say no, if that was tru then everyone that was at one point #1 P4P used angles well and that would be a lie, cause if there's any recent one that comes to mind is Mosley. he didnt use angles, his footwork was mostly stick and move, in and out
The Prince used to use a lot of angles. But today, the best example I can give is Pac. Crazy punches coming from crazy angles with crazy speed. And it helps that he's got a bit of pop in them too.
well done....yes. and hopkins is subtle...its not always obvious when he shifts, but he is a master..
Three names that I can think about now are Pacquiao, Floyd Jr., and Hopkins. However, the first fighter used his wicked angles with his speed of punch to confuse his opponents very well.
