If he could speak like he doesn't have a mouthful of marbles than I would.

Currently? Probably Sergio Mora. He’s a former champ, he knows what he’s taking about, he’s a quicker talker, between fights on camera if he’s talking about techniques he’ll actually demonstrate them (and he’s still fit so it looks good), and he’s bilingual which is useful here and there (mainly when he’s reporting on what corners of Spanish speaking fighters are saying to them). Think he’s also interviewed some fighters in Spanish when need be.

if I can go to the past? Have heard from great stuff from Jerry Quarry — what a shame that CTE got him like that, he had a REAL future as a commentator / host.

some of the ones who get credit… aren’t good. Foreman? Lewis? I’m sorry. I respect the hell out of them then for their accomplishments, but they weren’t very good commentators.

if I could name one I’d like to hear? Tyson Fury. He’s quick talking, hilarious, knows what he’s talking about, etc. I doubt he’d ever bother, but I think he’d be good.

not as a commentator, but as a long form interviewer, honorable mention to Mike Tyson. He’s hit and miss, but sometimes he’ll get someone to open up like they never would have if it were a more normal person they were talking to. As far as boxers behind a mic, he’s worth a mention for some of his podcasts.

who do I think we’ll get soon and forever? AJ. Every fight he’s at, they put him in front of a mic. Pretty sure the moment he announces retirement, he’s offered multiple contracts as a commenter / host. He’s… fine. He’s not bad. Not particularly entertaining or insightful, but he’s fine. I’d much rather him than some know-nothing never stepped foot in a ring assclown

i remember one quote in particular, where he sarcastically added the addendum, “But I’m just a three-time world champion, what do I know?”

    That kind of thing.

Maybe not a commentator but I like wee Carl Frampton as an analyst. He made a brilliant observation about AJ after the Dubois fight. 'I don't know what he was playing at, at times he looked like he was trying to look over a high fence'....brilliant visual description of AJs chin high in the air...

Oh wow, I didn`t notice that, there was usually a crowd of us in the living room waiting for the big fight so I might not have been paying attention, my dad was gutted when sky sports fired Mason in 1996, RIP Mason, RIP dad xx

I don't know who was the best, but I thought Czyz was good.

Foreman, great a fighter as he was, was terrible. Entertaining in a comical way maybe, but he never knew what the hell he was talking about. He always went with the loser in a fight, but maybe that was supposed to be his "role" as an analyst.

I liked O’Grady a lot. Perfect blend of analysis with some light humor mixed in.

    Marciano was excellent.

    Leonard was very solid.

Quarry and LeDoux were surprisingly good.

Honorable mention to two guys who didn’t get much air time but I would liked to have heard more: Kevin Rooney and Mike Tyson.
