Who are some of the best? Notice the thread isn´t about who has both the inside and the outside game, but who is able to seemlesly transition from one to the other. I really like this charachteristic in a boxer.

Mark Johnson- through his amazing footwork, athleticism, and quickness he was able to deliver pin point shots from the outside, then close the gap to work the body, and transition to the outside again while avoiding his opponents counters. Beautiful.

Pernell Whitaker- This thread may as well be dedicated to him. Slick, crafty defense in both ranges, and the transitions between. Not to mention his busy hands while doing so.

Floyd Mayweather Jr.- Great at standing behind his shoulder whether on the ropes or in the center of the ring, letting his opponent miss while countering, and then using his excellent lateral movment (in particular at the lower weights) to circle his opponent and reset from the outside. Like Pernell, very effective, but moving side to side instead of Pernell´s inside outside.. more linear movement off the back foot.

Who else? Amsterdam I will let you give the description of how Mijares accomplishes this because I know you want to!

Joe Calzaghe and Floyd Mayweather are the two leading contemporaries

Joe did this brilliantly against Lacy. Havent seen enough of him to speak to this ability on the whole though.
