A great oldie, made around the time Ali couldn't box due to the draft, a study of Ali and other all time great heavyweights along with master guru Cus D'amato. AKA Cassius Clay..... great film documentary....
Journeyman: The Bruce Özbek story It´s about the former Turkish-German kickbox worldchampion who becomes a pro boxer at age 35 because there´s no money in kickboxing. He becomes a journeyman and now, 7 years later, has pugilistic dementia. A sad movie about the forgotten stars and the dark sites of boxing. Only available in German though.
the thrila in manilla doc that was shown on channel 4 over here in britain a few weeks ago was very good..i think there was a thread on here about it a few weeks ago.
When we were kings - about the rumble in the jungle The Fabulous Four - about the fights between Leonard, Hagler, Hearns and Duran JC Chavez - about the life of....well, him. Any of the Beyond The Glory documentaries - I enjoyed the Tyson, Roy Jones and De La Hoya ones in particular.
I agree mate, the new 'Thriller In Manilla' doc is miles better than When We Were Kings and told from Joe Frasier's perspective.
