I have a pair of the Rivals with the velcro. It's just a gimmick as far as I'm concerned. Provides less wrist support if anything. PS: If anyone's interested in them after that glowing review you can hit me up via PM lol. I've never heard a bad thing about these. Saw a vid of Froch sparring in them, actually. Good reviews from ratethisgear and others. Definitely on my list of gloves to try out.
That's the best advice so far that I've read. Wrap the wrists so there is less chance of deflection on impact, thus avoiding injury.thumbsup
they are a little expensive, but the everlast protex gloves, they specialize in wrist support. But really all you need to do is just tighten the wraps around your wrist more and double up
Agree with everyone who's reccomended the Rival RS1 gloves (even though you opted for grant in the end). I have the Rival RS1 Lace up's and the wrist support is second to none. They have excellent padding , and i dont just refer to the knuckle area here, the wrist has padding in all the right places. Excuse the pun, but they really do fit like a glove as they say. Im sure the others will agree, as well, that when you punch with these you always land flush with the knuckles, such is the design. mine are Long cuff models. Morti.
