reyes are great but expensive.i'm really fussy about gloves(thumb position etc.) and the best sparring gloves by a country mile for me are hayabusa.14oz double velcro wrist.awesome gloves and not over the top at about 60 quid a pair

£9 QUID!!!!:bbb ****ING HELL FELLA! don't ever try and punch me in the face with them on! seriously, though, you get what you pay for.the reyes gloves are more like £100+
gloves for a tenner aren't going to give you much support so if you do go cheap make sure you wrap your hands properly or you'll hurt yourself.my first bag gloves were 8oz thumbless by "twins".they were a great glove and wern't expensive(although that was probably 15-20 years ago!!).around the 30 quid mark .:good

The best gloves I have ever worn in my life have been Winning gloves. They're the best to use for training...like pillows on your hands. They're super expensive though. I think they're made in Japan.

What gloves would you recommend in the £40 to £70 / €50 to €80 bracket for bag work and sparring?

Got myself some FightingSports gloves for £100 quid a pair. Basically their a sort of Winning knock-off, if your willing to spend something like $350 on Winning then go for Winning.

My FightingSports gloves are siiiick do'.

You from the UK? If so go on SugarRays.com and look for a nice set of gloves in your price range. A few of the guys at my gym have Adidas which comes in that general price range I believe.

might just be bad luck but my adidas sparring gloves lasted all of 6 weeks!all the stitching round the thumb just separated from the leather.

My mate had a pair of Neverlast that disintegrated in the same sort of time frame. Set him back 40 notes to get them too.

I've only ever worn a pair of Winning a good number of years ago, but they are very similar in fit and padding. I was using a pair of Lonsdale 16oz in sparring for a while and afterwards I would feel a bit of pain in my right thumb, got these things and it feels fine.
