Yeh this was back in the late 70's early 80's, i just found the ring a bit too high brow/stuffy & the paper & print text all just seemed to blur into one for me. But i always got it as it always had the full colour shots of the latest big fights stateside. I'am sure it's the RING that would jump 30+ pages if you had to finish an article on a said fighter or event. You know, you're avidly reading away on page 10 say & at the bottom of the page is sez go to page 54 or some shite like that:twisted: But i was a bit of a grunt back then so it was all action shots for me & big single syllible words that i could understand. I liked the Scoop Malowski cartoon page
My insane (?!) wish is for a new boxing publication to come about that's dedicated to the classic side of the sport. Dosen't seem too likely, but maybe it could be a quarterly type of special edition..just dedicated to great fighters and fights of the past...and maybe featuring a "where are they now" section for the names of the past that are still with us..just a thought.
Ring Mag. in the late 60's early 70's. Always liked Dan Daniel. I liked KO from the 80's lots of good columns and a monthly interview. Been getting a lot of the old ones on ebay, must have close to 1,000, and go thru them all the time. Red Cobra, I like your idea of a Classic Boxing mag, doubt it will happen, but it is a great idea
just a thought Skins:good...shows you what my priorities are lol..it would be fascinating to me for sure.
