Best boxing movie ever

    DMT i think its very underated for a movie made in 1953. The actor that played jack blackburn in it, deserves an oscar.

    That was James Edwards, one of the top character actors of the era. I think he was nominated for an oscar for another movie although he did not win.

    btw joe louis story is a good time to checkout rare footage of coley wallace shadowboxing and showing off his heavy right hand. The gym scene, where coley wallace first walks into the gym and th trainer checks him out then teaches him to hits the mits is a classic scene. Coley was a big dude 6'3 200lb, packed a heavy right hand.

    It's a classic "Wake him up!, CHAMP WAKE UP!, Wake him up!"

    I know Barney Ross was in it. "Requiem" is one of my favorites. Haystacks Calhoun was also in it. Don't forget about "The harder they fall" with Humphrey Bogart and Joe Walcott.
