Cinderella Man for me too, very closely followed by The Fighter. Both great films. Raging Bull deserves a huge mention.
The book cinderella man is way better than the movie, the movie paints Baer like an animal unlike the book which shows how he battled with the death of the fighters he faced, another good movie isthe champ and somebody up there likes me, the rocky graziano movie
#1 - raging bull #2 - rocky I #3 - on the waterfront #4 - the champ (1979) #5 - rocky IV #6 - cinderella man #7 - rocky balboa #8 - fat city #9 - diggstown #10 - streets of rage my personal top ten although the champ is seen as an old weepy cant deny it affected me and hit home which is what matters diggstown an underrated classic imo like james woods stuff of the 90's
Raging Bull Somebody up there likes me. Cinderella man Requiem for a Heavyweight. The Great white hope
There's an old one with Robert Ryan where he is supposed to fix a fight and then decides to fight to win. It's called The Set Up, I think. Very rarely on TV but I enjoyed it.
Great White Hype may not be the best but it's the most entertaining ... and shows so much insider understanding and knowledge of the game.
