I`ll second that. The owner of that site is a longtime friend of mine who I have met in person several times over the years, and he is one of the most reliable and trustworthy individuals anyone can do business with. A significant portion of my Asian fight films have come from him via trading, and most of his older bouts have in return come from me as well.
is he still trading as i sent him a email before as i have purshased from him before and got no reply
He is away from home several times a month due to work obligations, and as a result he doesn`t really trade anymore as he barely has the time to get his orders done let alone time to make any trades. But if you have something he really wants he`ll find the time to make a trade, but like myself very few people have anything of interest to either of us so that is why we very rarely trade anymore.
Because I don't need them. I have the James Toney. Why? There are fights i am never ever going to watch in their entirety ever again. Why oh why would I ever watch Toney-Peter II again? Or the Garbey fight. I'm going to watch Jirov, McCallum, Roy Jones, Barkley, DeWitt, Tiberi. Career sets always come with fat you just don't need. There are exceptions. It's worth having all the Duran or Armstrong or Tyson you can get, but otherwise...nah.
why aren´t you guys downloading them??? almost all customize career sets are on the known torrent sites
I see your point about that...but the choices aren't plentiful. Either you get a career set with as many fights on it as possible or you're buying individual fights which is ridiculously expensive (specifically because I can't tell you how many times I've spent money creating my own hybrid fight set only to have somebody go "You didn't -such and such-'s fight against such and such? You gotta see it!" Then you feel like the whole thing was a waste. Or you buy a career set that features only "important fights" that are ultimately up to the discretion of the creator. That means you'll buy a Jose Luis Castillo fight set that comes with 29 or so fights but not his fight against Casamayor (I've had that happen to me). This boxing thing is a fickle mistress sometimes.
Normally the bigger career sets eat up a lot of hard drive space. The kind of hard drive space I have reserved for kitten killing purposes.
For 60 dollars I can buy two career sets and not have to worry about any of that. Not only but I'm still leery of torrents.
I love career sets. i got them and then for individual fights i have a collector i buy from for the hard to find stuff. For instance, i never could get the Gato gonzalez-Andy ganigan fight, but now I got it. As for youtube, I like the flow of the realthing and hearing the announcers from when the fight happened. For instance, in the gato-Andy fight, Ryan (who I feel was the best ever), Clancy and O'Grady. And a lot of times you have the whole boxing program and buildup. On one of the Leo.-Duran 1 fights I have (I have 3 different ones w/ 3 different announcers ABC, Closecurcuit and I think it is British TV), it is the entire program from July 19, 1980 on "Wide World of Sports" just as it was shown for the first time. I like the real anouncing and buildup as it happpened and try to stay away from Superfight or ESPN Classic versions. I think watching youtube sucks. no atmosphere or you are there in the moment feel. and the way it always (for me) at least freezes till it catches up is shitty. You may get some crap in career sets, but you may get hidden gems as well. Plus, when you're watching a crappy, boring fight on HBO or Showtime and falling asleep (like during all Mayweather fights post-Castillo), there is nothing like popping in for instance, the CBS version in full of Eusebio Pedroza-Juan LaPorte and being transported back to the glory of your early college days or whatnot and seeing an artist, or a ring mugger at work. :vikingand w' some career sets like from the Wholesaleboxing sets, you can buy certain cds from it and end up w/ great fights. for instance. I didn't want the whole Pacquioa set, so I got the first CD for $7.50 and got him getting ko'd 2x, got 3 other fights and them his fight w/ Ledwaba. a great deal. Like I also said, I recently bought the Mintor and Colin Jones sets from PaulHitchinBoxing and it only costs 15 pounds/$23.00 Great deals and to really know a fighter, if you can't see them live, you need to see more than highlights. How did they fight leading up to a ko or decision? What traps were laid and set and avoided. See the nuances of the fight and the true style of the fighter and you can comment w/ more authority.
Watching fights on Youtube is a little difficult. Even when I try to focus on a fight, I always find myself scrolling down to the read the amazingly ignorant comments posted. Then once you read ONE...you have to read the rebuttal...then after reading the rebuttal...you have to read the "**** you!" comments that come with it. By the time that portion of the fight is over, you're on comment 278 out of 341 and your eyeballs are bleeding.
http://www.mike-tyson-dvd.com/ That seems to be a great career set for Tyson, does anyone here own it? I'm interested in if it's as good as it looks.
