could win his bouts by outboxin and outfoxing his opponents, but if he got nailed it was all over. i beleive its called having a glass chin.any and all weight classes.

Former junior welterweight champion Tippy Larkin comes to mind, when you hear a description like that.

Whitaker was extremely tough, terrible choice.

Tippy Larkin came to mind for me as well, shame there isn't any footage (that I know of). Alfonso Lopez on a smaller scale. Excellent, crafty boxer with little durability. Zapata didn't have a great chin, either, but I tend to think most of his KO losses came more as a result of him being either underprepared or from a lackadaisical mentality.

B,I second the choice of Tippy Larkin, the best "pure" boxer I ever saw
ringside.Tippy was so good a boxer he won almost EVERY round from that
other great boxer, Billy Graham in 10 rounds. He also outboxed the marvelous
slickster Willie Joyce. But alas Tippy Larkin had a true "glass" chin, and he was ko'd by great punchers like Beau Jack, Bummy Davis etc.
But damn, was he a stylist with sharp puncing powers to boot.! If Tippy Larkin
had Billy Graham's set of whiskers, he'd be the second Benny Leonard as the
great sportswriter Dan Parker always insisted.. Take care B:good
