Bull****!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lennox Lewis is the best HW champ since Ali. He ducked no one. Riddick Bowe , Tyson & Holyfield ducked Lennox in fact Bowe was scared shitless of Lennox
He ducked Lennox as long as he could till he had to fight him then kept his title on one of the most deplorable draw decisions EVER!!!
So I'm a DUMBASS huh ? LOL Were you around at the time ?? I was & pretty close to Lennox & KNOW what transpired
Ask Lennox why he waited 3 years to rematch Oliver McCall. Ask Lennox why he fought Tyson ten years after his prime. Ask Lennox why he couldn't dominate an aging Holyfield. There are actual newspaper articles that say the same stuff about Lewis. I'm not making it up. It's true. Lewis ducked, and beat up old drug addicts and past prime fighters. He was a vulture.
BOXING / TIM KAWAKAMI : Lackluster Lewis Fails to Make Case October 10, 1993|TIM KAWAKAMI "He's just a guy who's going backwards. He's regressing. And he was struggling with a shot, worn out, rusty, glass-chinned fighter."
After Lewis Turns Down $11 Million, Bowe Fight Won't Happen Until '94 July 21, 1993|From Associated Press LONDON — Lennox Lewis, the World Boxing Council heavyweight champion, has rejected a deal to fight Riddick Bowe for the undisputed title. "The deal was $21 million for Bowe and a 50-50 split if the final purse went above $32 million," Frank Maloney, who represents Lewis, said Tuesday. Lewis was guaranteed $11 million. "We declined that, and the Bowe fight won't happen until the summer of 1994," Maloney said. In a statement released through his manager, Rock Newman, Bowe, the International Boxing Federation and World Boxing Assn. champion, said Lewis is a "pitiful disgrace to the manly art of boxing. . . . Lennox Lewis is a pompous, arrogant, phony British punk who is simply afraid to fight me."
Holyfield was considered past prime in 1996,Lewis fights him in 1999 and cant beat him convincingly either time. 1st fight ok a win for Lewis, second fight should have gone to Holyfield! Lewis couldnt hurt him,ko him, knock him down. Despite Lack of Seasoning, Lewis Retains W.B.C. Title By TIMOTHY W. SMITH Published: September 27, 1998 "After Vaughn Bean lasted 12 rounds against Evander Holyfield in their heavyweight championship fight last week, Lennox Lewis complained that Holyfield looked like a has-been" Someone ask Lewis why he would struggle with a so called "has been" ???
I love how people point to Tyson being stripped by the WBC in 1996 when Lewis took him to court after turning down $13 million - more than twice what Frank Bruno made in March of that same year, and he was the ****ing champion. Lewis had done nothing aside from take a thin decision over Mercer (who wasnt even rated going into the fight) coming off a loss and a draw. Lewis was nobody in terms of popularity or PPV revenue to turn that down.
