Im torn between Sierra Championship boxing which had a huge variety plus you could create legendary boxers, and Knockout Kings with less variety than Sierra but definitely better graphics.. You?
The only boxing video game I’ve ever played was Mike Tyson Heavyweight Boxing on the original Xbox. That was pretty fun.
Don't know if Fight Night Champion is classic enough but its 14 years old but still looks great for today. OWC, I still play.
There was a PlayStation game years ago called HBO Boxing, maybe it was HBO Boxing After Dark. I used to play that a lot in the late 90s. It had some actual boxers in the game, Angel Manfredy being one, and it was the first game that I ever played that got smarter as you played.
To me it wore off after a while. The fact I could not get past opponent number 7 plus the phony characters did it for me.
Great thread title. Back in the mid 1980s here in the UK we had 2 excellent titles. Barry Mcguigans boxing You had to fight through 30 opponents to get a title shot vs mcguigan over 15 rounds. This was a great immersive title for its time. But is obviously dated now. Frank Bruno boxing was a superb punch out style game Rocky On the sega master system was a fantastic game. I could go in depth on these and 20 other classic boxing games
Foes of Ali This was an early era 32 bit title a real cult game. EA sports first 3d boxing game. It's aged but was a real immersive revolutionary title for its time you fought Ali opponents from 'Enery Cooper to Leon Spinks. Great tv style cameras and presentation A early era commentary that really worked and a 1970s style cinematography.
