I see Rocco had to gulp down a bowl of high fiber Kashi cereal and get to bed early at 7. Too busy to keep up with his thread!

By "old school" and "new school" I was referring to how the viewed certain issues, not the least of which being-

    Louis/Tyson
    Roy Jones Junior
And last, but not least....Anything and everything that has to do with Jack Dempsey :D

Most guys here are pretty good where almost all of us lack is having been alive when most of the fights were fought so I voted for john Garfield but JT was a close second and Janitor should have been in the list.

There's some excellent posters on this forum (and a few idiots as well I might add :p). I don't really think there is a best poster as such. It's like asking who the best looking woman is in the world or who is the best band etc etc. It's all subjective at the end of the day.

I just got through watching Quintana vs Williams. What a dandy that one was. Did you happen to catch it?

I caught 8-12, and I must say I'm glad Quintana got the decision he deserved. I was expecting an HBO robbery (the announcer had it 116-112 Williams, I think), but Quintana was definately earning his win out there. He looked pretty damn good.

I feel the same way. People used to mention me in this type of thread! :|

That said, other than John Garfield, none of my choices are up there. I like the posting of Sonny's Jab, OLD FOGEY, Janitor, Manassa (;)), and a few others among the regulars, and I was very fond of Ted Spoon and Cross Trainers' threads before those guys took their leaves of absence from the forums. Several noted historians have poked their heads in here from time to time and contributed as well.

No, but Robbi just gave me the rundown on Williams in the Duran vs PBF thread early today. Do you know the odds?

Your own opinion.... seems to be a recurrent theme with some!

Why I slanted the poll towards him (placing a person at the top tends to generate votes for that person.. well deserved in this case!)

Sorry if any person feels left out. Chances are if I failed to list a person they fit into one of the following:

    1) They really aren't that great a poster

    2) They don't post enough for me to notice

SalSanchezFan was my favourite poster but he's been gone for a while. hhascup was also good whilst he was here, very knowledgable and had a different perspective working at the New Jersey boxing hall of fame. Duodenum also is a great read.

I don't know what happened to SalSanchezFan... he would have been included in my list. Just found other, more important, things I suppose.

Hascup is great as well! He really does know his stuff, in spades. I like to "argue" with him, but I always appreciate (grudgingly agreee with) his oppinion on things! I've no idea why he doesn't post more often.

Guys that are being grossly underated in this thread -

Mendoza - as valuable to the forum as anyone I can think off.

Sonny's Jab - He Overates Rocky Marciano, but he's a generally excellent poster.

OLD FOGEY - Priceless contribution when he's in the mood

ChrisPontius -Unparalleled at utilising actual statistical evidence.
